Cartersville, GA – Booth Western Art Museum in Cartersville, GA is offering free admission to those evacuating from Hurricane Florence. Any resident of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, or Southeastern counties in Georgia can visit the museum for free through Wednesday, Sept. 19.
Individuals fleeing the hurricane need only to show their driver’s license from those states or counties for free admission through next Wednesday. The museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday.
The museum, itself the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the country, is currently hosting the largest exhibition of works by Frederic Remington ever in the South. The exhibition, Treasures from the Frederic Remington Art Museum & Beyond, features more than 60 original pieces of Remington’s work from the Frederic Remington Art Museum (Ogdensburg, NY), as well as from private collections and other museums.
For children, the museum offers Sagebrush Ranch, a fun, hands-on, interactive gallery. Organized like a working ranch, Sagebrush Ranch is designed for children ages 2-12.
